If the goal is to try and compete still (MB mentality) than yeah I'd be ok with it. I wouldn't though simply because this team needs to rebuild and sell off assets for futures.

Yeah I pretty much agree. Then again I'm just not sure what the heck to expect from Galchenyuk here anymore, and if ever Arizona was even remotely interested in him (or Pacioretty for that matter) then I think the Habs would need to explore something like this. Either way two things need to be added to the roster, a 1D and a 1C, most likely one has to come via trade and the other via a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft. If ever OEL was available, which despite what Chayka insists, I think is a very real possibility, Habs need to be in on that. An OEL-Weber top pairing completely changes the whole D unit and the team.

Still not even close for OEL Galchenyuk is pretty much relegated to 4th line duty and Lindgren+2nd for OEL+4th is pretty bad for Arizona any other team could easily beat your offer.

You're underestimating Galchenyuk and Lindgren's potential value as young players. OEL is currently a league worst -15 who only has a year and a half of contract left. Obviously he's capable of much better but let's also not get carried away, he's no Erik Karlsson.
