Description
Complete roster revamp for the Wings.

Laine rumored to of sold his columbus home. Buyout could be incoming but likely a trade will be explored first. With 2 years on his contract it is a low risk move for Detroit. Husso is a cap dump and could be sent there or to Utah.

Rangers are done with Trouba. He is a native of Rochester Michigan and Detroit desperately needs more grit. With the Rangers not having much draft capital over the two years and needing money to resign some of it's core they opt to ship Trouba to his hometown with a small retainage.

Fabbri is a cap dump to SJ/Utah/Etc.

Columbus thinks about it, but I don't think adding Husso is an option unless Elvis goes the other way. That, plus getting basically a mid-1st alone for a retained Laine, makes it a probable no. It's not bad, just not enticing enough to pull the trigger.

Cossa will be playing in Grand Rapids next season.

I don't know how you have Trouba over Seider at RD?

Trouba makes sense but only if they can get him cheap.

Mazur deserves a roster spot over Soda.

Can't see Yzerman signing Montour when he's buying time for ASP at RD.

Laine isn't worth paying that price.

Excellent talent but he's always injured or pouting.

Kane ship has sailed.

He sounded like a guy who isn't returning to Detroit.

If Yzerman trades that 15th overall as currency he should target Necas or Theodore.

He'd have to add other pieces of course.

Updated the trade... I think a 1st straight up for Laine with 2-2.75m retained is a fair deal considering he only has 2 years left on his contract. Also removed the husso portion.

Updated the lines. I think Trouba adds an element of grit/pest that we desperately need and as long as he's not making his full contract I could see stevie looking that way if they actually want him moved. '

Mazur and Soda I go either way with. I was leaning Soda only because of his size. But I see them splitting time and eventually one of them taking the spot full time.

ASP is at least two years away. They already said he's playing next season in the SHL, and the year after he will likely be in GR. Stevie doesn't want to rush any of our defensive prospects. By the time he makes the jump Trouba's contract would have fallen off the books.

Laine is worth the gamble with only two years left on the deal. Worst case he's gone after two. Best case he starts to return to form and we have a 40+ goal scorer for 6m per season. If you have Kane feeding him I really think he would have a significant resurgence.

Kane wants term and he's going to test the market to see if he can get it. I think 3x3.5m is a fair deal all things considered. But if he can get more $$ then power to him. We likely go after a Taffoli type player then to replace him if he leaves.

That's probably about right. The only other thing I'd push for is a conditional mid-rounder. Something like a 4th that upgrades to a 3rd if he plays 65+ games and a 2nd if he scores 25+ goals. Since there's not a ton of incentive to move him, it would be something to soften the blow if he returns to form.

Either way, though, I'd be a fan of getting another 1st rounder, especially in that range if Yakemchuk, Jiricek, or Brandsegg-Nygard are still on the board.
