Change Mercer to Holtz

Nobody wants Holtz, and he certainly isn't a headliner in a Brady trade.

Seems a little light in the middle or drop the 2nd round pick coming with Tkachuk from an outside POV.
Daws is far from an Askarov , Wolf or even Fowler. He's good as long as they games not on the line
He's not going to steal games for you or win the big championship as a starter. At best in time he might become a Bernier/Cujo style Journeyman Goalie.

Mercer's still good and has value
Stillman is 21 year old B or B+ level middling goal scorer (RHP or Ylonen level success in AHL so dont expect much)
Vulka- whatever is just big and russian i see little value there outside he's big and hits.

Its 1 good pick ,1 good player then a lot of Quantity over Quality.
IF they move Tkachuk it'll be for an overpayment and this dont feel like it meets the minimum requirements.
Decent base to the trade but outside the top 10 everything feels like spare parts NJD looking to offload
Mercer i love but he's in a weird spot in NJD without room to grow so im weary of sending him to OTT which is even more crowded at forward (hence them exploring Tkachuk trade)

I think a 3rd party could put this trade over though as teams will pay for Mercer , ones with room for him to grow.
I just dont think OTT is that place and right now they need a REAL Goalie Option so i suggest a trade with BOS or CGY
Mercer to either makes sense but i think CGY makes the most sense. It gives OTT a way out and they can send a goalie back to NJD as consistent as Gustavsson over to buy Schmid time

But it would basically be NJD acquiring Markstrom for OTT who gets Markstrom and a top 10 pick for Tkachuk.
NJD would get Tkachuk and a Back up goalie along with whatever's exchanged in acquiring Markstrom
CGY would walk away with mostly futures and Mercer helping them today.
CGY could leverage that 1 spot they're infront of NJD offering it as a trade up option for OTT

I think its the only way you get Tkachuk out cheap.
You could also flip the script and target Markstrom for NJD with Tkachuk ending up in CGY and OTT stockpiling futures and a roster player ready now for top 6.
Either way those 3 partners make sense mostly cause of needs and timing

The Wild could easily beat their proposal. Of course the first comment is a Devils fan downgrading their offer lol
