Awful Necas trade. Cates hasn't done much at the NHL level and Tuomaala might not even be a good NHLer. Canes are in win now mode, this would be meh if they were in rebuild mode, but it's terrible for a contender.

These are all good starting points but would probably need to be refined to be accepted for Ottawa, Carolina, and Toronto and then for Seattle id want more for TK

Sure hasn’t done much in 2 years except get Selke votes as a rookie and have some of the best defensive forward analytics in the league lol.

Just tell everyone you only look at points without telling everyone lol.

I get that, he is a great defensive forward. Sorry I should have elaborated more, I am a big fan of Cates and he has a ton of potential. But the Canes strongest suit is defense, they lack finishers. Cates is not a finisher, he might be some day, but he's a great defensive forward now who doesn't fit the needs.

OTT declines, the only thing of value in there is frost and OTT dont need him.
