Description
MB is not scared to pull the trigger on this.

Karlsson can get the money he wants and deserves in MTL
- the trade is conditional on him signing a deal right away. ( ranging in the 9.5M and up)

OTT get Weber which has a cheap contract longterm (relatively)

The Duchene/ Patch and Chucky is added for fun.... the main trade is WEBER FOR KARLSSON

Two things.

1) if all it took was 9.5M, Ottawa would just sign him. They'll probably end up signing him up to 12M or 13M in the end.

2) Weber is not a cheap contract. That's a 7.8M cap hit until like 2025 or something.

1) As you might see, Habs have 8M in cap space... The 9.5M was a base, I know it will get higher

2) Well 7.8 is cheaper than 12M my friend !!!

It is A LOT better than letting him walk for notting !

You're also high if you think that Ottawa is going to want a bunch of declining veterans in return for duchene and karlsson. The main reason they wouldnt resign karlsson for that much money is because they have nobody else to build around him before he starts to decline, so why would they take middle class aging players in return for two superstars? If they trade Karlsson, it would be to build for the future. You would probably be looking at giving up ATLEAST Poehling, Scherbak, maybe Juulsen too. Just look at what colorado Got back for Duchene only. You add in Karlsson to that, might as well give them your entire farm system.

yeah, sure throw them the entire farm.

Declining Vets ? are YOU high ? Patch and Chucky are barely 30

You are under-evaluating Weber, You don't make the top defensive pair of Team canada for nothing.

Middle class, get out man

Yeah Karlsson isn't signing for no $9.5 million when he can easily command around $12 million to $13 million per on the open market and any deal involving Weber for Karlsson is insane and Dorion should be fired if he made this deal.
