Pittsburgh is in need of a good and young bottom 6 center and it may come at a price. Did the two teams just do a deal before the holiday trade freeze, yes, but it doesn't stop them from doing it again. Dealing Oleksiak to Pittsburgh left Dallas short on the left side and Pateryn won't cut it all year so this deal could help fill in some needs.
