Description
Spooner back home to OTT, Khudobin and Condon swap 1) to help OTT with failed goaltending 2) to help OTT with making cap space for the trade, 2018 1st round pick (BOS) to OTT to close the gap between Spooner and Dzingel and to pay for the 2 1st round prospects (White & Brown); Hartman for Dzingel swap locking CHI in to a sub 2.0 contract for an extra year, Seabrook comes off CHI books in exchange for a 3rd round pick to CAR; Hanifin to BOS in exchange for a 2018 CAR 2nd and a 2019 CAR 1st with Hartman and Brown going CAR way. BIGGEST PROBLEM I SEE IS SEABROOK HAS A NMC AND WOULD HAVE TO WAIVE IT TO PLAY FOR CAR, but otherwise this interestingly helps everyone out. THE BIGGEST THING I WANTED TO DO DIFFERENTLY BUT THIS WEBSITE WOULDN'T LET ME IS MAKE CAR SUPPLY OTT WITH THEIR 1ST ROUND PICK IN 2018 INSTEAD OF BOS AND THEN BOS GIVE CAR THEIR 1ST ROUND PICK IN 2018 INSTEAD OF 2019 BUT ON THIS WEBSITE I HAD TO MAKE ONE TRADE BEFORE I MADE THE OTHER TRADE SO I COULDN'T DO IT THAT WAY. IF THIS WAS REAL WORLD SCENARIO AND IT WAS A 4 WAY TRADE THAT IS THE WAY I WOULD WORK IT, BECAUSE IN THIS SCENARIO BOS IS THE BIGGEST LOSER, BUT FOR THE PURPOSE OF GETTING OTHER GM'S TO PULL THE TRIGGER IT MADE SENSE FOR ME TO BE ON THE SHORT END OF THE STICK. SO PLEASE TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN CRITIQUING MY TRADE.

This whole thing is confusing but there is no way what you are giving up ends up with you getting Hanifin.

It's confusing because this website won't let you make a true 3-way/4-way trade... shakes head

I'll try to make it less confusing...

Basically:

OTT: Spooner, Khudobin, CAR 1st 2018
CHI: Dzingel
CAR: Hartman, Brown, Seabrook, BOS 1st 2018, BOS 2nd 2018, CHI 3rd 2019
BOS: Hanifin, White, Condon

I hope that makes sense???

What each team would be giving up...
OTT: Dzingel, Condon, White, Brown
CHI: Hartman, Seabrook, CHI 2019 3rd
CAR: Hanifin, 2018 CAR 1st
BOS: Spooner, Khudobin, 2018 BOS 1st, 2018 BOS 2nd

I don’t see Carolina giving up Hanifin at all regardless. So I don’t think this is the trade that makes them trade him.

I'm not sure that package gets you Hanifin AND White.
Carolina might be okay with the return, but I'm not sure they can handle that cap hit.
Ottawa and Chicago are the losers here.

maybe not, but 2 1st round draft picks and a 2nd and a 3rd is a pretty hefty sum of an offer especially when 1 of those 1st round draft picks has been pairing with Patrick Kane for the last several weeks...
