Brian, think these are about the fairest trades I seen for JVR and Drouin. Fabbri and Paajari careers seemed to have stalled in St Louis, but if the Leafs think they can can still be NHLers...good deal for everyone.
Not too many trades which are 1-1 for Drouin. You suggested a veteran for Drouin. Might be necessary for TB as this may be their last chance at a Cup run with Stamkos. As a Leafian, hate to lose Komarov but the potential of Drouin (getting passes from Nylander). Nice. Good work, and I think well deserved five stars.

Gotta disagree with you here. I don't think either Stl or TB even consider these deals.

The way I see the deal with the Blues, even if they would do JVR for Shattenkirk straight up(which I'm not convinced they would), there isn't a prayer you can turn Polak into Fabbri. Fabbri's a 19 year old playing in the NHL, to say his career is "stalled" is horribly unfair. Paajarvi is an throw-in with only minimal value but even if you take him out I don't think the Blues are doing this deal.

As for the Drouin deal, I love Komarov as much as anyone but you're not getting a guy who was picked #3 overall two years ago with elite potential for a player who on most teams isn't cracking the top 6. I know he's been putting up points this year but it's likely an aberration given his past numbers in the NHL and KHL.

Jarrett you're correct on the St Louis deal. I confused Rattie with Fabbri. You're right, Fabbri certainly has had an excellent start to his NHL career. Rattie/Fabbri, those southern Europeans, who can keep them straight?

I agree with you, don't see either happening as written.
