Yeah no. I understand you don’t like the Pens, but Hornqvist is the heart and sole of this team. If you watch 1 game you should know that.

What an overpayment for Grabner, too. Simon isn’t as good as him, but Grabner isn’t a 1st and a 3rd better than Simon. Oh and Simon can play C.

Grabner is OP to 36 goals this season and could easily turn that up to 40 if put on the right team... and his cap hit (while only under contract for 1 more season) is 1.650 it might be an over payment, but it's not a gross overpayment... And you can say what you want about my moves, but right now the heart and soul of your team isn't in playoff contention.

It seems to me that everyone is trying to get the Pens slower and tougher and that's not what won them a Cup the last 2 seasons. It was their speed and ability to score on the rush and ability to gain and control the neutral zone. My idea was to simply bring that speed back to the Pens. Just a thought I had...

I understand the thought, but if you have all fast players and no gritty players(Hornqvist, Kunitz, somewhat Guentzel) than you aren’t built to succeed. Look back at game 6 of the SCF last year, Hornqvist scores a gritty, greasy goal to win. You have to have a mix and what the Pens are looking for is a gritty, defensive LW to play with Malkin and the assets available for THAT trade is Cole+2nd+prospects. Ideally Zack Smith.

For Grabner, It’s not as much the overpayment as it’s the overpayment for a rental.

Hagelin is suffering on that line... Hagelin/Malkin/Hornqvist

He doesn't play a dump/chase... cycle the puck... type game

If not Hornqvist than Hagelin or Sheary need to be put on the block and the other put on a line with Kessel. It just amuses me how everyone is blaming Hagelin's production on him when it's his circumstance that has his totals down. He can't be expected to produce playing a game where he doesn't excel.

They are on the block, per Jason Mackey.

Our lineup right now is:

Simon-Crosby-Sprong
Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel
Sheary-Guentzel-Hornqvist
Kuhnhackl-Sheahan-Reaves

Where does Grabner fit? Simon’s spot? No because Simon is doing great along Sid. We are looking for a C/LW hybrid(Zack Smith, Alex Galchenyuk). I’d prefer Zack Smith because he is cheaper and is better defensively.

So let’s say the trade is Cole+2nd for Zack Smith.

Simon-Crosby-Sprong
Smith/Guentzel-Malkin-Kessel
Sheary-Guentzel/Smith-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Sheahan-Reaves
