Back at it again in Tampa !!! I think Bergevin would be wise to try this out !!! Since JT Brown has been put on waivers, I think Tampa should be on the hunt for a better forward, whoever he is. I think Andrew Shaw would be a good option for Tampa. Of course, this trade should be done after he recovers from his ongoing injury. Tampa has a LOT of good prospects. Since Taylor Raddysh would probably be too much, I think Libor Hajek would be good target, a left shooting defenseman who has good size. Maybe Tampa would be hesitant to part ways with him, since they traded Anthony DeAngelo for him, but I think it would be worth it. They have Hedman and Sergachev in the left side for a long time. Plus, they have drafted so many good prospects for every single position. But the question I expect to be asked is: WHY SHAW ? Well, he brings cup experience, he can be played on every single line, he is good on the power play, good in faceoffs. Great depth player who plays with heart.
Both picks are conditionnal:
For the 2018 conditionnal 6th round pick:
*If the lightning is eliminated in the first round, the pick stays a 6th round pick
*If the Lightning is eliminated in the quarter finals, the 6th rounder becomes a 5th rounder
* If the Lightning is eliminated in the semi finals, the 6th rounder becomes a 4th rounder
* If the Lightning gets to the Stanley Cup finals, the 6th rounder becomes a 3rd rounder.
For the 2019 5th rounder:
* If the Lightning don't get in the 2018-2019 playoffs, they keep their 5th rounder.
I would want Raddysh, but he isn't what the Habs need right now. They need d-men and centers. I think this trade could be a good one. It takes some grit off the Habs roster, but it also removes a 3rd/4th liner (mind you a good one) who makes a little too much money. It frees up cap space for some shopping this summer. I've never heard of this prospect before, but he looks like a potential NHLer looking at his stats. As a Habs GM, I'd gamble on TBL going deep into the playoffs, making those picks good ones.
