That Brassard trade is brassardly bad for PIT.

But Shearyously, You really want to trade Simon at this point? He’s looking like a stud on a very cheap contract. Plus we are adding Gus+1st+2nd? I’m sorry but I’d rather have JG Pageau than Brassard anyway, and Gus+1st could get Pageau.

Getting Brassard is a big double edged sword mostly due to his contract. 5mil for another 2 years makes the Pens cap a hard juggling act. If the Pens want a longer term solution Pageau is better option as he is younger and cheaper.
Vanek is just slow. Yes he has rediscovered some scoring the past few season but the Pens game is based on skating and Vanek just doesn't have it.
