Hard no from the Yotes. Welenski has basically no NHL future, and the third doesn't really sway them into taking it. They can either get a goalie of the future or much more for him.

As a Ducks fan, I agree, this is nowhere close to enough. Do think Hjalmarsson would be a good add, not sure on the price. Thoughts?

While I agree Hammer will get more. I don't really agree the Welinski doesn't have a potential NHL future. He did not look bad in his 4 game call up. He is also doing quite well in the AHL currently 23 pts in 34 games. He was nearly a point per game earlier in the season. I would be perfectly happy to add to that deal to get Hammer though.

I meant I agree it’s not enough. I also think Welinski has a future as an NHL’er one way or another.

It's "Welinski" and yes he does have a future in the NHL. I think the offer needs more, but, at the same time, if Hjalmarsson is worth sooooo much why did ARI get him for Connor Murphy and Laurent Dauphin, a borderline NHLer and a career AHLer? I'd add Roy to the package to get the deal done. Both Welinski and Roy are enticing pieces and the 3rd makes up the value. I think it's a strong offer. ARI only brought Hjalmarsson in because they wanted to have a strong season in an attempt to convince OEL to sign with them (OEL is bored with the continual rebuild), but, given how bad this season has gone for them, I can't see them making that work. I'd be surprised if OEL isn't gone by next season and replaced by Dahlin + whatever they can get for OEL. Therefore, that makes keeping Hjalmarsson redundant. ARI is building for the future, they have no use for a 31 year old D-man in Hjalmarsson and the Ducks will be irrelevant by the time they're looking to contend because of the decline of Getzlaf. Moreover, it's not like they'll be tailoring offers from across the NHL on account of Hjalmarsson's limited NTC.
