No interest in Shaw from the Ducks. Overpaid 3rd liner if you ask me.

When MTL first signed Shaw to his deal, i would agree with you. Overpaid. but the guy has been playing for salary. He was on pace for 20goals before getting hurt this season. and he still managed to put 12goals in a concussion filled season last year. and it's not like he's injury prone, both were just bad luck injuries. the guy also plays a style of play that can go anywhere in the lineup, from 1st line to 4th if you need to. And for how bad the Habs have been, Shaw hasn't been an issue. so for me this would bee a low sell honestly, might as well just keep him for that price.

We paid two 2nds, so getting a 2nd and 3rd isn't exactly selling low imo

well it's still technically selling low, not by much. I guess it would depend to what team, you used the Ducks, they usually are in for deep playoff runs, so their 2nd would be in the 55+ range, and the 3rd would be in the 80+ range. Not exactly great picks. If the deal was done at the draft however to at team with better draft picks, let's say Florida for whatever reason, the trade would definitively be more interesting with the 2nd in the 35 range and the 3rd in the 65 range.
