Doesnt seem like a bad trade for Chucky, but Gaboriks contract is really poisonous for a team that is in a more win-now mode (Not this year, but we arent rebuilding)

Lol its a terrible trade Galchenyuk is not worth 2 1st round. Also the 2018 gotta chance to be a lottery pick.

It reminds me of that Schenn-Lehterä trade. STL traded a declining forward and two first-rounders to very able forward. This way Kings would get rid of Gaborik's huge contract and Habs would get some draft picks they need for future building. It's a win-win solution, sort off. Of course, everyone can have their own opinion on this matter.
In my opinion, that trade isn't that bad. Chucky obviously isn't worth 2 first-rounders, but if that's what it takes to get rid of Gaborik's contact, I'd consider it.

Galchenyuk is worth two 25-30 overall picks. He was a 3rd overall pick (He was injured for the entire season his draft year) for a reason. He is the real deal and if he had a better all around team like LA, he would thrive

He was drafted 6 years ago, so his draft number means nothing. Carolina defenseman Jaccob Slavin was drafted at the 4th round, 120th overall, in that draft, and he is currently more valuable than Galchenyuk. It's impossible to say whether he'd be better in LA or not.
