" One of WPG's top prospects. 35 pts in 38 AHL games this year.." exactly. why would Winnipeg trade him for and first for so little. I voted great for being a ranger fan. bad for non ranger fans

I think WIN would need add another piece for Nash, like BRENDAN LEMIEUX or Logan Stanley & up the retained salary to 50%., add a 2019 2nd rounder back to WIN to even it out.
Sadly, WIN is NOT on Nash's trade list. I'm thinking DAL, SJ, STL ,NSH,PITT, or back to Columbus ( i know those are 6 of the 12 teams)

I think in a McDonagh deal with MINN that 4th in 2020 can become a 2nd. & add LOUIS BELPEDIO to the deal.

In any scenario where NYR can add 3 (or maybe 4) 2018 first picks, the thought would be to trade up into the top 4 & get a player like Filip Zadina.

He's certainly a good prospect, but still not WPG's best prospect. I figure that they'll have a log jam of guys since their farm system is stacked, and could part with one in a win now type move.

Winnipeg is the 5th best scoring team in the NHL, so why would they trade their top prospect and a first rounder for Nash (who would be a 3rd liner for them)?

When Brodin comes back, Minnesota will have one of the deepest defenses in the NHL. If they trade for McDonagh in the offseason, that would leave them with 5 Dmen with a cap hit over $4 Mill once Dumba re-signs. The only way this works is if they find a taken for Brodin or Spurgeon, neither of whom they want to get rid of since they are signed for a longer term than McDonagh. Lastly, Jordan Greenway is pretty much untouchable as a prospect right now

just think you overrate nash. he's never been a player playoff performer. it's subjective I know
