Description
This is not the end all be all offer... This is just an offer... I'm more interested to hear from Chicago fans what it would take to make this deal happen. If indeed your playoff berth is shattered and a rebuild is in order, what would be a fair offer for these 2 guys at the deadline? I'm aware that this is probably a lowball offer and my objective isn't to be insulting. I really don't know where to begin with this one. Then again this may be a fair offer for 2 guys that can't seem to stay in a struggling Chicago's lineup. From Boston's end we can't give up any roster pieces as we are making a run for the Cup and this idea would be to add to the roster not to replace anyone. However, I'm not saying that the deal couldn't be sweetened. I'm just curious what you all would honestly think is a fair offer. To Boston fans, Hartman would fill the role of a RH RW who is versatile enough to play all 3 forward positions. He is a gritty 2 way forward who has a decent upside. He plays a pretty decent agitating role and can change the tempo of the game. He's definitely a quality depth forward. Kempny is solid in his own end. You can't really count on him to put up points but that's not really his role. He is a decent shutdown defenseman as an insurance policy.

I don't think it would take that much. Rather spend that first on Rick Nash

This is a fair assessment... I'm just trying to think outside the box and other teams who may be sellers at the deadline...

Why are we giving up a first, essentially, for a guy you have as an extra forward? Unless you're looking at the discussion deciding where he plays? For the sake of disuccsion, and I don't like giving up a first for Hartman, my lineup would be:

Marchand -- Bergeron -- Pastrnak
DeBrusk -- Krejci -- Hartman
Heinen -- Spooner -- Backes
Schaller -- Kuraly -- Nash

Extras: Vatrano, Acciari

Also, may as well deal Vatrano for a pick because you're losing him to waivers. Postma waived, and probably unclaimed, and then brought back up once the rosters are opened.

Yup, just don't know exactly how he would fit in until he joined up and got to practicing with the boys and seeing who he had chemistry with... That and I don't like Spooner in the faceoff circle so making the swap there didn't seem quite so simple

Spooner could switch with Backes, but that's a lot of roster shuffling.
