I don't understand either, and I don't know why the Ducks would make that trade. The other two trades, I can see.

I'd rather Nash over JVR.
NYR are not taking Vet players on at the moment so move JVR out to a team looking for a top 6 winger and use what you get to get yourself a better winger

i agree with the other posters, those first 2 trades would be great for both sides. And also agree that the Nash/JVR situation is a pretty lateral move, so why bother? Plus, as much as I like Nash, playoff JVR is a completely different animal and probably the better player.

Though I don't think Arizona will trade Hjalmarsson, he's been invaluable to Churchyn's development.

Nash is twice the player JVR is. Nash can skate and pass. JVR has incredible hands down low but is also a guy that Babcock won't use in the last 10 minutes of a game. Nash is a 200 foot player that can do everything JVR can do and is even better defensively
