Excellent return on Letestu and Maroon, but it's way too much coming back for both of them. Sounds like the market value right now is a 3rd and a low-end prospect, despite Chiarelli being interested in either a 1st or a top prospect. I don't understand the Vegas trade at all.

With Montoya going on the IR soon (Brossoit being recalled due to Montoya tweaking what looks to be his shoulder during practice yesterday), he might not meet the 7 game requirement for the 4th round pick. There's a legitimate chance the condition is met unless the injury is serious and requires surgery. Not sure if he's going to be out for an extended period of time, but it's something to consider keeping an eye on.

Maroons not a game changer but he’s very good on a good team. He’s versatile, physical, cheap, and only 29. I don’t see why his value should be all that much less then Grabner’s.

Letestu wins face offs, is sound defensively, and has a great one timer when with a winger that can complete a pass. Should have the same value as Pageau at almost half the price.

From what I heard Montoya is fine. He just took a shot up high in practice, and they gave him the night off to be safe.

Maroon's a slow middle-6 forward with little utility outside of a PP role though. He hasn't had a ton of offensive prowess away from either Getzlaf or McDavid. He's at best the consolation prize to the team that doesn't acquire Nash or Kane. Grabner's a 30-goal PK machine that plays top 6 minutes. Middle six if the team he goes to is stacked. Not to mention that Grabner is blindingly fast too. He offers more to a contending team, and therefore should be worth more.

Pageau is much younger than Letestu, has a higher offensive ceiling, and would be under team control with another 2 years of term. Letestu's value has been dragged down by the Oilers' horrendous PK and his lack of success on the PP this year.

Glad to hear Montoya is doing okay. As an Oilers fan myself, I'm fine with their return. They aren't world-breaking free agents, just depth pieces. If the two of them could net a pair of thirds and a half-decent prospect, I'm happy.
