Description

A move that I believe the Panthers can make, giving up 2 solid prospects in Tippett and Mascherin, but not giving up top prospect C Henrik Borgstrom and gem F Aleksi Heponiemi. Pacioretty's prescence would be more valuable than bringing in a McDonagh as MaxPac would perfectly round out this FLA top-6 and give them depth throughout their forward lines. McDonagh has been too inconsistent and has been injured over the last 9 games, and to give up such assets would make no sense. In Pacioretty you get a 5 time 30 goal scorer, who's time in Montreal looks to have taken its toll this past year, and being only 1 of 6 other players in the top-6 who has to contribute is much better than being "the guy" in Montreal. Florida becomes a dangerous team in a weaker Eastern Confernce with this move.

Why does the 2019 3rd change? Infact, why have it ther at all? Tippett and the Lottery-protected 1st is enough, trust me.

MTL passes
we can get a center and protecting the picks devalues them as it defeats the goal for MTL

make it Bjugstad he's fallen to 4th in faceoffs and declining ice time locked in at 3rd now but if Borgstrom hits the NHL right out the gate
you are devaluing your 25 year old center as he will potentially either be pushed to bottom 6 wing which as seen with Galchenyuk last year hurts their value
or worse plays 4th line C as Borgstrom seems like an impact power center like Trochek i see him pushing Bjugstad aside.

Bjugstad a 2nd in 2018 and a 2020 conditional 2nd if patches signs with FLA
if not no worries but with Barkov and Trochek on top and Borgstrom emerging the writing is on the wall
and here is your chance to move out a center for a goal scorer

as much as Tippet is good we need a center and that just cant be ignored
we can just wait until Draft day and move patches there once some teams change directions and part with a spezza ,rask or bonino and take what we can get.
