It's a fair trade. Given that taking Ladd is doing the Islanders a favour, I am not sure I understand why the Habs have to give a decent pick AND a prospect.

I'd replace one of those picks by Beauvillier. The Isles have more than enough cap space to re-sign JT tho, that's not the issue.
