Description
Well as I ponder the enjoyment I will experience while watching Rasmus Dahlin & Jack play for the next decade plus in the Sabres uniform (I wonder if I have ever given my wife that much excitement....who am I kidding no way I have never been that good).

This team has one trade and one trade only that is critical. The Sabres acquiring Matt Dumba from Minnesota. The Sabres agree to take back Ennis.... would also take back Foligno if that is required to make the deal happen.... Sabres part with McCabe and a first round pick in 2019 & Second Round picks in 2018 & 2019.

I believe that NYI are ready to move on from Ho-Sang as it appears he does not want to be on the Island and the Islanders are tired of him. Both parties seem unhappy. I send the NYI their goalie in Lehner and provide a role player in Girgensons & a prospect in Griffith.

I was not sure of the Dumba contract. I opted for a bridge but I would not be opposed to signing him to a 7 year deal if the cap number was at an acceptable level.

Smith, Malone & O'Regan start the year in Rochester.

McCabe has no value for MN. 2nds and sometime in the future none top-5 pick really doesn't help MN enough to get rid of Dumba.

Mittelstadt, or maybe ROR, Risto, or Reinhart (depending on what the new GM is looking for) would be the conversation starters for a Dumba trade. Obviously 1oa and Eichel are untouchable.

Ristolainen you say.... that sort of surprises me with all the defenders already in your system lol.

I agree though this trade with Minny would work if they’re looking to rebuild which I doubt it. They have the tools to make a run if done correctly

That is a bit to send to Isles for Ho-Sang too. I think he could come cheaper. Let’s say Lehner for Greiss and Ho-Sang? Moving Greiss would help their cap quite a bit

Risto would be more of a lateral move, but value-wise he would fit with a Dumba trade. Seriously, give Ritso some more protected minutes and either Suter or Brodin as a partner and they would make a heck of a pair by the end of the season.
