Description
Come on! Hanifin’s a top 4 LHD, which Winnipeg can use with Morrissey next year, and Trouba’s a top 4 RHD that can make Carolina’s D-pairings look a heck of a lot better. Plus, then Canes fans can more easily do their Justin Faulk trades. And Carolina’s not in a big need for money next summer like Winnipeg is, and Hanifin will b about 1M-2M cheaper (I’m thinkin 5M Hanifin and 7M Trouba roughly).

Stastny is signed 1 year because he seems to like being in Winnipeg. He can play another year here, then go off into FA and get a good 2-3 year contract with a team he wants to retire with (unless he wants to retire in Winnipeg).

Hanifan for Trouba does make sense. I suppose the difference in the players is somewhat term....especially if Trouba wants to opt out in 2 years.
Arizona has no problem to hit the floor, I guess the only question is do they want Perrault. May be the Jets might be happy to give up away, for cap reasons. I like Byran Little but wonder about his remaining six years for a 30 year old.
Statsny lives in St Louis. There certainly is spot for him in the lineup in nearby Carolina. As much as Stastny might like the Jets, does warm Raleigh and the easy travel schedule of the Canes may appeal to him more than the Jets (if offered similar deal with those two teams)

The main Hanifin for Trouba trade definitely makes sense for both sides. Curious if each GM values his own guy too highly to get it done though.

The Perreault deal is fine. Can't argue with adding a top 6/9 guy for minimal picks, even if his contract is a bit higher than ideal.

I could see Calgary doing Stone for Kulikov straight up, but I can't see them taking on Mason in addition for a second round pick. Maybe if you add in another depth scorer like Armia who is better than what they have in their bottom 6?

Trouba won't make 7 mil. While good, he hasn't done anything that suggests he should make more than Seth Jones, Parayko, or Hampus Lindholm.

Yeah thanks for the comment! I think the Jets will wait a few years before trading Little (considering he just resigned with them).

Thanks for the comment! I can add Armia if necessary, although I would like to keep him to finish our top 9, but I’d like to keep Rittich coming our way. I think having him can make it easier on Comrie’s development so he can only come up when ready (So he for right now can start in the minors).
