As much as I like Muzzin, if the Oilers are giving up that much they really need to get a top 2 elite defenseman who shoots right. They have so many lefties that it makes no sense for them to do that.

Yeah, this doesn't make a lot of sense from Edmonton's POV. And I'd be a little afraid of giving full value for Muzzin anyhow - his most common partner is one of the best defensemen in the world, so of course his numbers look great.

I understand your thought process. Muzz hasn’t really played with Drew too much the past two years. He’s legit top Line paring, but he is LHD, so I get it.

He likely is, I just checked his "TOI with" for 2017-18 and his most common guy was Doughty, second highest was Kopitar. That'll boost anybody's numbers, but obviously he earned that ice-time too.

Just saying that his performance next to Kris Russell or Matt Benning won't be as good as you're seeing in LA.

Agree. Muzz plays PP/PK, usually paired with Doughty, but they aren’t paired usually at ES.
