I don’t think Carolina is looking to bring back a LHD for Hanafin, let alone the value in just not there at all. Reinhart would be a piece for either Skinner or Hanafin. that MTL trade is terrible for Buffalo

If Montréal could find another defenseman than Shea Weber to send back to the Sabres, the deal would be acceptable and you would have a working roster.

This trade doesn’t really have the value the CAR is looking for...I could see at Skinner for Reinhart trade to reboot both or perhaps a Skinner + Rask for ROR trade. Those would make more sense from the CAR perspective.

I don;t think Skinner for Reinhart straight up works because Skinner is going UFA and Reinhart is cost controlled. Straight up hockey-wise, yeah, I'd do that deal. But contracts change the value.
