Description
first thing, get bickell out. then trade shaw, who could be replaced by Hartman, as well as other assets for a first round pick and possibly more draft picks, this gives the hawks a better chance to gain a decent prospect pool, as they traded a lot recently. shaw will want a raise, just cant give him a big one with Hartman coming up. this gives enough extra space to resign ladd. gagner and schenn are both young players who have faded out of stardom. giving them a chance on a low $ contract could be essential in the revival of their careers.

Those trades, way to too much for Carolina to give up for those players. And the Leafs don't want to take over Bickell's contract without getting something back.
Ladd highly unlikely to sign just a one year deal. The Hawks will probably have to keep Shaw at about 3m and forget about Ladd.
If not a team that has cap space or money to burn on buyouts like the Leafs....Bickell and Shaw for a 3rd rounder.

Mark mcneil is something back. one of our top prospects in the system. I gave ladd a one year cuz I was lazy, he would probably get a maybe 4 or 5 year deal offered. shaw could be traded for a 1st if players are added. the point was that we need draft picks.
