Description
What a real Head Coach & GM would and should do... If we had those, of course.

The Helm and Jensen trades happen in the coming weeks freeing up some cap space to get Larkin and Mantha signed.

The Klefbom trade comes just before training camp, it could also be Nyquist instead of AA. I just figured AA has more value, because he has a higher upside than Nyquist. I think AA would thrive playing with a fellow "high-flyer" in McDavid.

Zetterberg doesnt retire, starts at Center of the 2nd line, Ras takes over some time mid-season.

Ericsson and Kronwall lose thier jobs to mid-season call ups Cholowski and Sulak and watch from the press box as healthy scratches.

I dont have Zadina on the 1st line because i think he showed excellent chemistry with Ras at development camp, i dont want to split that duo up, i think they will be a very strong duo for a long time. They will eventually take over the first line when they get a bonafied winger in the future.

I think the line of Svech, Larkin, and Mantha is more complete than the Zadina & Ras line, so they are up front for the time being.

The Nyquist, Nielsen, and Vanek line is the crafty veteran line, not too flashy, but deceptive, creative, and can put the puck in the net.

And the Bert, Glenny, and Abby line is just a pure grind line that can definitely score (bert & abby) perfect for the 4th line

I firmly believe if you were to ice this team, you end the regular season in a wild card spot.... But, we wont.

I think Edmonton could get better for klefbom, the package seems fair value but I think they could do better. you wont get a 3rd for helm his cap number stinks for his role and he gets hurt too much. I always liked him as a player, second coming of Kris draper but he never really grew into it. I think rass will be ok but like all young guys it takes time same with zadina but id rather lose and let them grow than lose with the veterans. Svechnikov is a very important guy. if he gets it together and even turns into a tatar or Nyquist level scorer it will be a big win. He just looks like a bust of a first rounder so far but guys grow at different rates. I hope he gets 25 or 30 strait games in the top 6 to really get a feel and see how he fits. but your right, young guys in, old guys out and I hate to lose but jack hughes would look pretty good in a winged wheel.

Yeah i think the helm trade maybe a bit off, ill change it to the same as Jensen i think. And i also agree on the Oilers trade, but i wont change that because Chiarelli gonna Chiarelli lol.

The way i look at it is this: With the old guys, we're gonna lose.. bad. So might as well put the young group in there and give them a chance. Worst case? We lose a lot of games, which would happen anyways if we dont play the kids. So might as well put them in there, get them learning to play at the NHL level and maybe something good happens.
