Because they like never winning and being terrible at offence? This trade is a joke yes, but mainly because the Leafs are giving up the best two players in the trade in Nylander and Kadri and the 4th best in Gardiner and a 1st round pick to make their team much worse than it currently is and also they get a highly touted prospect. All in all this trade is a complete one side joke.

The team hasn't really improved this off season, how do you expect to make the playoffs when you can't score and also aren't that good at defending (Or stopping the puck, either way)?
