I think somebody is going to outbid wpg on wheeler, some young team that is looking for a veteran leader, just a matter if he takes it or not, when Neal and stasny get the deals they get this year I believe somebody coming with 8.5 to 9.5 but that’s just my thought

The max the jets go to is 8 with wheeler. You are totally right, a lot of teams will outbid us. I do not think for a second that wheeler will bite though. He loves Winnipeg and this team. He is staying.

If the Jets give him this contract, he is going to stay. 7Mill is nothing to sneeze at...and I agree with you. He likes it here so he will accept it.

I hope you guys are right but the tune usually changes a bit as soon as a player feels that freedom of ufa status, I believe this season is key in a lot of decisions as far as Myers, trouba and wheeler go I think Connor gets bridged and laine gets longtermed and I’m hoping Morrissey takes a nice team oriented contract of 5 or 6 years but we will see, I’m just praying jets are flying at trade deadline and ufa status is not a distraction what so ever. The team and the city deserve the best possible shot at success next few seasons so hopefully it all works out

For Laine it really depends what Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner sign for. It will be more than Marner and less than Matthews. Another good reference point is Eichel. Laine shouldn't get more than Eichel at 10.5mill.

The only team I could see Wheels leaving us for is the Wild, and they are an absolute mess with their contracts right now. If you think the Little contract is bad (and it isn't) multiply that by 10 for Suter and Parise. Assuming Wheels likes winning, the jets are the much better choice between the two.
