Description
I may have accidentally created a playoff team ?‍♂️

Ok so friendly reminder this is all for fun(it's in the title), but as always is open to constructive criticism.

Wanna hear thoughts from all fans involved in these trades.

Preferably counter offers instead of: "ABSOLUTELY NOT I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS **************..." etc etc

Next years $$$ situation:

If Smith has a comeback year, trade him, can't afford to keep him amongst other.

If he stinks again, buy him out, we're gonna need the $$$.

Cap could rise again close to $85 mil giving the NYR enough to sign everyone and maybe even an FA???

As a Leafs fan.. that for fricking sure would not ever give you Nylander who is worth top-tier #1 RHD

So just going back to my description at the top of the page...would you mind sending a counter offer so as to help everyone see what You think is fair value from the NYR here?

Take into account Torontos $$$$ situation with having to sign Matthews and Marner next season

First of all sorry I just watched that trade and written. Second of all.. taking to the account our money situation we would have circa 2mil in cap space when all of the triplets are signed. Nylander gets 6.5 per so we could possibly get back 8.5 million. NYR has no elite RHD. They have Shattenkirk but he is more less RH Gardiner and after Gardiner signing with some team it would be even paying wise same. I dont think NYR would want to part ways with Pionk so he would not be in the deal. Remember.. Nylander can get to Kucherov's level in year or two, he is that great but is in shade of JT, AM and MM. In this way.. there is need to have 1st rounder, then player who is going to be instead of Nylander in his place in the roster who has top-line ceiling and can play right now (Lias Andersson or Buchnevich take your pick or send Kravtsov and take the last part out which wouldve been top D prospect) and a NHL ceiling D prospect. You maybe dont see it but Nylander is one of the few players ever to have two 60pts seasons before even his ELC ended. He has both defensive and offensive abilities on the highest level, great shot, great skating, elite puckhandling and ability to play C on top line level but his main position is RW. He is superstar in every meaning of the word.

Leafs are in semi win now mode. None of those pieces help the Leafs. Unless a capable Dman coming back in the trade, the Leaf say no. And certainly the Leafs would have no need for Perrault
In many ways I like that Oiler trade. Oilers get rid of lots of cap..and will have to spend it later to wisely to get back to the playoffs.
Lucic has a NMC. While you might waive it to go to some teams like the NYR, I just don't think he would agree to flipped again to a bottom feeder like Montreal.
I like the concept of the Jets trade to help the Jets with their cap space next year.
      Cjeths liked this.

Now this is a real good response! Thank you!

So I do agree that Nylander is in the shadows of MM, AM, and JT, for sure, but I do believe we can field an offer that works for both sides.

I'm gonna think on this one a bit and get back to ya.

Lot to digest before a counter offer can be correctly made.

Thanks for the comment! Definitely helped a lot!
