If your second line all have breakout years, your team could do better than last year, especially because DeHaan and Hamilton are such an upgrade, but that third defense pair and your goaltending . . .

I would think Brind'Amour starts the season with Ferland, Necas and Williams on the second line to let the other kids break in more gently . . .

There's something about Slavin-Hamilton, Fleury-Pesce and DeHaan-Faulk and rotating them more or less evenly that appeals to me . . . do you think the pairings are set as you have them?

Slavin-Pesce has been effective...de Haan and Hamilton are both two-way D but de Haan is more defensive and Hamilton, offensive so this works and Fleury-Faulk played last year together...sucks for TVR but CAR tried to move Faulk this offseason; hasn't worked for now

That is wrong, Faulk played with Hanifin for the bulk of the season. TvR would probably play his offside over Haydn because he's just better. The other thing that has been raised is moving Faulk to the RW

Yes, I agree that this is the best way to play your top four defensemen, but then your third pair is Fleury (inexperienced) and Faulk (horrible defensively), and I was suggesting ways to try to spread the risk, I think your way is the way Brind'Amour is going to have to go, though.
