Description
Toews needs a playmaker on his wing. Kane would easily bring him back to 70 points in a season. Schmaltz is capable of carrying his own line and needs to earn the big pay raise he's looking for. DeBrincat will be a good finisher for him. Saad can provide the net presence. The third line is just going to be a fast checking line. All three of those players have great wheels and can get the puck to the net. The fourth line is just the grinding/Pk guys that need to bring more energy to this line up vs what we saw last season.

Manning is on the outside looking in. Joki is ready, Boqvist gets 9 games then sent back to junior.

The only thing that I am against in this post is having Anisimov on wing. He needs to be a center or get traded in my opinion.

I wish the hawks could trade him and I wish he could be an effective C with a good face off percentage, but I think the wing could open up his game more and increase his production. Kampf has really shown he can play 200 feet and has much better speed. I think Anisimov needs to be more of a net presence. I really see his role diminishing on this team. Getting him on that top line could bump up his value for other teams.

I almost think that if this senario were to take shape that we would see Anisimov at center and Toews at wing in offensive zone starts. We need Toews to reignite his offensive game, perhaps putting him on wing with Anisimov as the puck distributer would help us see better stats from him.

I wouldn't be opposed to putting Toews at the wing like what happened with Giroux, but I also think Kane can reignite that O game.

Sigh When someone says that I think of the Sharp-Toews-Kane line last season.... I know that’s not a fair comparison but it’s one that I have to make.
