Description

Its not the first time NYR and CBJ made a deal, and I'd expect these two teams to be talking.

Panarin seems like a really good fit for the Rangers.

I'm not sure what exactly CBJ would like for Panarin's return, but with Seth Jones missing the start of this season, Lindgren is a young D propsect that has a good chance at cracking the Blue Jacket's roster immediately. Also, Spooner could join Jenner's line and I think that transition would benefit both players.

Any thoughts on this trade?

first, that isn't enough to get panarin, second, why do the rangers want him? They're rebuilding. Just make a push in free agency.

Here's a list of the 2019 UFA's in the NHL from today's date. Panarin is likely the best LW option available, and locking him down before he hits UFA could have a better signing value to an individual team rather than a more competitive pricing from multiple teams. Plus, Rangers roster isn't even near a typical "Rebuild", and even adding a player like Panarin would give them a strong chance to have another playoff run. What if the 2nd rounder was a 1st round without conditions, would that be fair for Panarin?
