This wouldnt fit us since Panarin wants to be UFA and Savard for Nylander is worst trade available.

I know he is a UFA. My reasoning is Columbus gets a very good player locked up for 8 years while the leafs get a superstar for a potential crazy cup run this year and a right-handed d that's locked up to a good contract.
This will never happen just something to think about.

Savard is 28yr old and on bad contract.. If we deal Nylander to Columbus we get Bjorkstrand, 1st round pick and D prospect back. No 1yr UFA, that makes zero sense for leafs. Zaitsev and Ozhiganov are better than Savard. If we go after D its Parayko kinda player who is around 25yrs old not 28.. think like Parayko+Kyrou for Nylander+Liljegren deal. Upgrading both teams defence with guys they dont have and changing similar style forwards.

Why would CBJ want to overpay Nylander any more than the Leafs do?
