  2. 2019 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Gauthier was drafted ahead of Mccarron in the same year and accomplished less while Mccarron made a name for himself as a Fighter and Big Time Hitter at the NHL level .

Mccarron is a future 4th line enforcer at best but thats still a future NHL'er something Gauthier will not be , but having him as a home town boy in Laval will sell a lot more Jersey's then Mccarron ever did so there is potential upside for our AHL team which is in year 2 currently .

Leafs don't have much centre depth so they'll keep Gauthier. Surprisingly Gauthier got a start and centre last night and with Leivo and LW Lindberg,,,played well. That fourth line was terrific in keeping Dallas in their own end. Can they maintain that play?

MTL kept Mccarron up , we also sent him back down numerous times .
TML is losing vs lesser team like MTL because of their lack of speed so i doubt the 6'5 235 pounder stays up just because Pars Lindholm has over 53% faceoff win rate with more hits and blocked shots the Gauthier playing the same miunutes because Pars can score .

if TML wasnt running a 3 center PP leaving you so crucially dependent on your 4th line C after PP ends then sure Gauthier might stay up .
but they are and he isnt IMO.

Why would the Maple Leaves give up a 4th and comparable player for McCarron? Both players look like reclimation projects to me.

because Mccarron actually has an impact when he's at the NHL level
every game he plays he leads us in hits and he's a heavy weight fighter who can hang with the Matt Martin's

Mccarron played as a winger is actually solid as CJ showed using him as a regular when he first got hired with Ott on 4th line .
Mccarron acted like a punk because after his success he got butt hurt CJ sent him down so CJ left him there to correct his attitude and honestly he came into camp looking great focused on playing wing for the first time in MTL

i never ever ever ever ever thought fans would fight me on this as its clear Mccarron's the better player just compare their Stats again drafted in the same year , similar size .
if TML drafted Mccarron instead and never moved him from wing to Center he'd be an NHL regular but MTL like morons pulled him out of US development league and hurt his development just like they chose to do taking Leblanc out of the NCAA screwing him over completely after having success in the NCAA .

Molson since becoming President has hired French First and they make moves like this .
but since letting Timmons step up and replace a failed Lacariere all of our prospects have improved across the board .

Molson = moron , if he was as professional as other owners and hired a Pro GM MTL wouldnt be in this situation right now with multiple former 1st rounders being missmanaged

I just don't find it practical that a team would trade a fringe 4th line C with higher PPG and FO% + 4th round pick for even a decent 4th line RW which McCarron may or may not be depending on who you ask. I'd think a 5th without anyone coming back would be the max return for a minimal game playing 4th line RW, but if you insist on Gauthier I'd more likely be a 6th imo.
