Description
I think matt duchene would help this team so much at the deadline. They could move schmaltz back to the wing and give them a decent top 9. They have help coming on defense via IR so I think if they make a trade, it should be for a center (hopefully w/o trading this years 1st but theyll probably have to move it).

I absolutely agree that Duchene would be a very good fit for Chicago at the 2C and also agree that Schmaltz is just not a good center given his inability to win faceoffs. At the wing he can still play his two way game the same way Hossa did and Saad is supposed to. I just did a team before yours suggesting the same. The one thing I would suggest is to swap Saad for Duchene and include Edjsell and or Rutta as part of the deal. Besides his 1st year with the Hawks, Saad just isn't fitting into the system well both last season and so far this season; the chemistry is lost. This would also free up the cap space and enable the Hawks to go get Panarin or another big free agent name if needed; although with Schmaltz, Duchene and Kane on the 2nd line and Kahun, Toews and Debrincat on the 1st line, I don't think the Hawks would need to necessarily get Panarin and focus on strengthening the 3rd and 4th lines and locking down the 1st and 2nd lines with long term deals. Either way, move Saad either to OTT or someone else as part of the strategy to bring in Duchene.

I think it makes sense to swap Ejdsell and Saad in this deal. Saad hasn't been working out in Chicago since he came back, and could use a change of scenery. The Sens need to hit the cap floor, and the Hawks get more cap space to load up for what is likely a last hurrah with this core.

Maybe a deal like Duchene and a 3rd for Saad, Mitchell and a 2nd? With salary retained on Dutch?
