I love how much people undervalue Zuccarello. Look up his stats vs. Burakovsky's. Yes, Burakovsky is younger and Zuccarello is a UFA in a year, but still ... Washington would probably have to at least add a bit.

A potential flop of a player for a very talented offensive player isn't a 1 for 1. You'd be giving up a lot more than Burakosky to get Zuccarelo.

honestly it'd have to be a first round pick plus for zucc (since the pick will end up at 26+ most likely, zucc is worth a mid rounder at the deadline (15-20))-- idk if the rangers want to take on another project with potential-- we already have that in namestnikov, vesey and on a much lesser scale buchnevich (he's better than all of them). Are the caps willing to sacrifice the future for another chance at the cup?

Zuccarello is the better player out of the two... so why would the Rangers retain salary for a 1-for-1? Even without retention Washington would need to add. With retention Washington would need to add a lot.
