Description
see both post for big picture

Please Dont be Stupid , flipping JGP after using him for a year increasing his value due to him by Proxy being MTL's 2nd line Center same way Drouin was,Domi is and the next new guy will be.

Lindgren is a great Tandem Goalie Prospect and as talented as he is anything more then 30 games and his play suffers as his conditioning is no where near NHL Full Season worthy . (downside to developing in NCAA)

Brook is good possibly even really good but he's not better then Fleury who's an over achiever knocking on the door from the AHL as a Rookie with 4 points in 7 games playing top RD minutes
Trades
MTL
  1. Pääjärvi, Magnus
  2. Pageau, Jean-Gabriel
Additional Details:
-MTL's top Goalie
-Top RD Prospect .
-2020 conditional 2nd becomes a first in 2020 if MTL wins ECF with Pageau playing 50% or more games .
OTT
  1. Brook, Josh
  2. Lindgren, Charlie
  3. Peca, Matthew
  4. 2019 4th round pick (CGY)
  5. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-MTL gets a Bulk Faceoff Center with Speed who produces 125-150 hits a year playing a similar style to Byron but able to take 1000-1200 faceoffs a year over 50% win rate .

-Paajarvi is a fast skater for a guy his Size and Claude Julien did good work with DLR who's passed waivers multiple times but not until CJ improved his game did anyone even consider picking him up .(if he fails it doesnt matter he's just filler for the deal )

I read the description in the other post. God this is an awful deal for MTL. Pageau is not a #2 C, not even close. He could be a serviceable #3 C for face-offs who could have a bit more of an offensive role, with the speed factor. But in terms of value imo he should fetch nothing more then what MTL got for Eller; two 2nd rd picks. Brook is becoming a legit steal of a pick in the 2nd rd and should be Petry's replacement in 2-3 years. Including Lindgren and another 2nd + + is overkill.

No way. two 2nds tops (in terms of value) is what I'd give up for Pageau.

this is MTL the leagues worst faceoff team using wingers as Centers
acquiring a Speedy player with great possession skills something MTL doesnt have .
if you'd look at the big picture and what lesser Centers have brought in at the Trade deadline the past 3 years you know the return on JGP plus the year we used him will make this deal worth it .

are you trying to tell me and say he couldnt take faceoffs for a year on this team and increase his value enough to flip next year ?
(keep in mind what 4th line C's have cost PIT and TOR recently )

Montreal finally finds a player to produce as a #1 center and you want to move him to the wing because of faceoffs? For a depth center? Nothing about this trade makes sense.

i cant believe you think Domi's success is contingent on him playing Center SMH
watch a game sir , actually watch Domi play he takes the Draw and moves to the wing then DROUIN moves to the Center assignment . . . . . . . . .
anyone and i mean ANYONE who's watched a MTL games knows this its common knowledge.

next year when Poehling or Suzuki take Center Domi will be pushed back to Wing its as logical as knowing the Sun will Rise as again if you watch him play like Ever he is battling along the boards playing Wing assignment (something you never see from Drouin who's usually skating in the middle waiting for a puck )

Lastly Domi's our 2nd C , Danault has played as our Top C on our Top Line with our Top Wingers Tatar and Gallagher .
just saying you dont know what your talking about literally EVERY GAME Everyone from Analysts to the Coaches are talking about our issues with Faceoffs.

I wouldn’t be against acquiring him. But like I said, Pageau isn’t worth more than two 2nds, tops. He’s a depth C. Brook is 100% off the table, and you’re giving up too much for JGP even without Brook in the deal.

And it’s not like Habs are desperate for him, with Poehling, Suzuki, and other C most likely in the lineup next year, he’d be taking one of their spots. Really desperate for a face off guy? Just sign Vermette or trade for someone cheap.
