Description
Interesting cap situation for Tampa next summer. 10.5m to sign 8 players...or to promote non roster players. Braydon Point still be signed. Many NTCs may not agree to be traded.

Think I’ve already posted this a few times but I would imagine they already have plans to move some ntc contracts. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Oh, I'll disagree. What's the motivation for some of those players moving away from a good team, in a nice place to live and play? Yea, I'm interested in seeing any "plans." (next summer). But it befuddles me why the players with rigid NTCs would be so willingly to waive their NTCs.

I'm sure Callahan would have no problem waiving for NYR. That in itself solves a lot of problems.

They wouldn’t need to waive, Callahan has a 16 team trade list. Millers doesn’t kick in till next season and it is an 8 team no trade list. It is Tampa though... who knows, maybe they get someone to waive.

What do you think of the gourde contract? Very decent deal in my opinion. Certainly won’t hurt the nylander dispute.

Very good value for Gourde, he plays on our shut down line plus he got 25 goals and 64 points last year, currently has 4 goals and 8 assists this year in 12 games. Love watching him play, he is a feel good story and I would rather the Bolts keep him over say Miller if it came down to that.

I also agree that the Lightning can move Callahan like Washington did last year with Orpik. Package Callahan with a prospect and decent pick to a team who will just use a buyout on him. I also think Tampa knows they can move Tyler Johnson to his home town team in the upcoming expansion draft. Also if they want to move a guy with a NTC they can sit the player, if say Killorn is getting outplayed and is benched he might ask to be traded. The Lightning did this tactic back in their stanley cup year with Eric Brewer to get him to waive so they could trade him. Brisebois I am sure knows who he can move of the NTCs if needed.
