Description
Yes, I'm aware he probably won't be traded.

Just curious to see how far off this value is. From what I understand the leafs mainly want a young RHD and someone who can help to fill the hole left by Willy wouldn't hurt.

The value is off a bit but really it’s just not attractive. Zuc is ufa next season. Buchnevich and pionk would be the two pieces leafs would be after.

Agreed Buch/Pionk would be pretty fair...
NY doesnt need to pay out for Nylander, who may or may not be worth 8+ /year.
He's more of the same for NY , high end talent, but certainly not elite. Honestly I'm against trade because we are only acquiring a wing. (?) I know he can play C, but ahead of Zib/Chytil/Howden/Andersson... I would say no, as far as a winger ... just keep our pieces and pay Panarin...( if we must)
I'm just not a fan of during a rebuild , we lose blocks, building blocks for an already overpaid winger. Albeit a young one... which actually just means bigger contracts sooner....
Prefer to watch another team take the expensive chance.
Now , in two weeks, Toronto will be under the gun.... price will drop or maybe they just sit him out??
He did play with some decent players in Toronto. (#s inflated??)

the rangers and toronto aren't the best trade partners.. the rangers are very weak at RHD, the only expendable ones are shattenkirk/mcquaid/smith given the direction of the team (wanting to hold on to their younger assets). seeing as toronto needs a RHD it makes a deal VERY hard.
Given the above i just don't see the trade happening unless one team caves and doesn't get what they 100% need.

Agree we just pay panarin, we'd be better off
