Burakovsky has five even strength points this year (playing with a weak 3C, Lars Eller), is 23, plays on a checking line, and will be an RFA in the summer.
Kovalchuk has eight even strenth points this year (playing with a great 2C, Jeff Carter), is 35, gets only 6 minutes a night if the Kings are holding a lead, and is in year one of a three year, eighteen million dollar contract.

LA would love this trade, but the pick and the extra player are going the wrong way. Plus LA would need to retain 50%.

LA would take that and run. That's an extreme overpayment for Kovey.

Did you just call Lars Eller a weak 3C? Shame. The dude was a solid 2C for half the playoffs and is one of the best 3Cs in the league. Go rethink that
