Description
Main goal is to leave room for Johnson, Barrie, and MacKinnon to be extended next offseason. Avs miss out on Sekera, go for Ehrhoff at whatever market wants for him (is $5,000,000 accurate?). Fehr adds top 9 depth and pushes Mitchell down to the 4th line. Cliche becomes 13th forward. Hishon and Rantanen add top 9 forward depth with the potential to stick in the big leagues. Tanguay and Grigorenko may swap spots.

Not only are all the moves possible, but the contracts added aren't going to handcuff the team next season when Johnson, Barrie, and MacKinnon need new contracts.

Not bad. A few things to nit-pick. Stuart has said he prefers to play his off-side, so I'd have him on the right. Also, Winchester has been more productive as a center in the past; I'd move Mitchell to wing. But really, those are minor things. I do think Hishon makes the team, which would push Cliche down the the AHL (finally).

Holden, Guenin, and Redmond prefer right also though, don't they? So weird that we have a glut of righty defenseman.

I put him on the Winchester on the right wing because he's a righty and Mitchell is a lefty. I'm also a big fan of Mitchell and he can fit anywhere so there are a lot of options. To be honest, I'm very skeptical that Winchester can stay healthy. Seems like his concussion was awful. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cliche weasel his way back into the lineup or Rantanen get the call-up.

I think Hishon provides a pretty interesting situation. We're going to have to expose some players to waivers. At least three of these guys will have to see waivers: Hishon, Cliche, Bordeleau, Guenin, Redmond, Holden, and Stuart (assuming there are no injuries). If Rantanen stays up, bump that number to 4. 2 if Everberg goes down. Knowing Roy, CGuenin, Holden, Stuart and probably Cliche are more than likely safe. I don't know how they plan to handle this.
