Description
I haven't been on this site in a while so not sure what all other Hawks fans are saying....

But I'm very curious to see how the defense looks next year. As of right now it looks like a good mix of aging veterans, up and coming youngsters, and middling depth guys. It seems like there's going to be 10 guys that could push for NHL spot next season. (5 RHD: Seabrook, Murphy, Jokiharju, Boqvist, Mitchell; 5 LHD: Keith, Gustafsson, Forsling, Dahlstrom, Beaudin). Personally, I think our top 6 WILL include Keith and Seabrook (due to contracts) and SHOULD have Jokiharju, Murphy, and Boqvist. That leaves one spot for Mitchell, Gustafsson, Forsling, Dahlstrom, Beaudin. Mitchell should be ready but that would give us a lineup of 5 RHD to 1 LHD so not sure if that would be the optimal lineup. It is for me.

Offense side. I like the moves Stan has made lately and we now have plenty of forward depth. We just need some bona-fide scorers which obviously Panarin would be. We also have the cap space to maybe add another guy like Silfverberg. I don't think this hurts our future cap because Crawford is off the books after the year and Anisimov and Saad in 2 years.

Adding guys like Panarin and Silfverberg and our young D in Boqvist and Mitchell should bump this team back to contender status without putting too much of a damper on the future cap. Crawford and Anisimov coming off the books clears room for DeBrincat and Strome bridge type deals. And Toews/Kane/Seabrook/Keith contracts will eventually come off books when all the youngsters are due raises. We should also have a pretty decent draft pick this year to hopefully add a dynamic winger! Kakko or Hughes would also be a huge plus for next years team if we are lucky enough to pick so early.

If any of Perf Bonues are that hight, it takes away from the cap the following year. Sure Crawford is gone but you still need a goalie, but Debrincat and a few others need raises.

The performance bonuses are not attainable and largely tied to Kahun for one more season. He may hit half of the bonuses.

Strome's bonuses, if he gets it, are almost 2.5M...He was a overall 3 pick

And the rest is all Kahun's incentive bonuses which he will not get. One of the metrics is 40 points I believe. I don't know what Strome's incentive bonuses entail but generally they have a high mark for goals and assists or points overall; I think it's pretty save to say neither will hit 100% of their incentive bonuses and likely that number will drop to 50% around the $3.3M range in total owed bonuses.
