Interesting returns to the Blues. I like the mix of young talent, draft picks, and short-term stiffs. The return from CAR is too light and I doubt that they part with two promising young D without a D with term coming back, but it’s a start.

The TOR trade is backwards. They need a top RHD. At this juncture, the Blues don’t give up a 1st.

With a number of teams possibly extending QOs to Matthews and Marner at the end of the season, I doubt that TOR turns Nylander loose until the dust settles. But the Blues should ask for Kapanen, Liljegren, and a high draft pick for Petro.

The leafs fans scream bloody murder every time you mention Liljegren, but he’s not ready and is unproven. In the meantime, they aren’t getting past TBL with that D-corps. Here they are, finally getting their first sniff at the Cup since the ‘60s (somewhat like the Blues, just competitive!) and they want to hoard prospects. Send Petro home. They’ll find a way to extend him and win a few Cups in the process. Hopefully, Liljegren pans out for someone else.

Even taking on that slug Weise and his albatross contract doesn't persuade Philly to take on Allen at this point. Earlier in the year, yes. Now, nope.
