Athanasiou is the exact type of player that Detroit should not move. Young, fast, cheap. Perfect piece for them to use in a future move to the playoffs

I agree completely. He's also the only type of player the Sabres would move a 1st for. He's young, fast and an RFA. My hope would be since AA has pressured the wings contractually before and its very possible he will again when his current deal is up they would be willing to move him to recoup assets for there rebuild (if they decide to sell off).
