I just don't see MIN doing this trade. I think they can get more on the open market from another team. Beaulieu is a fine piece, but his 14 ATOI isn't lining up suitors left and right. Keep in mind...BUF acquired him for a 3rd alone and that was when he was younger and playing 19 ATOI with better metrics. Just looking at trade history you're trying to trade an asset for more than what you paid...despite the asset not performing as well. Sobotka is a reclamation project even with the cap retention. If you want Coyle I do think MIN would accept Beaulieu and even Sobotka with retention, but drop the 3rd heading back to BUF and up the 3rd going to MIN to a 2nd....the 2nd is the real prize in the trade...it's not Beaulieu

Here’s the thing about Coyle...

He’s probably gonna cost more than we should give.
This is a decent proposal, but another team will beat it. And we shouldn’t go above an offer like this.
He’s a 3C quality player now.
Since he’s not gonna help solve our depth scoring issues, it just wouldn’t be worth giving up the additional assets it would likely cost to get him.
Just not the best fit for us

Plus, Minny is fighting for the playoffs
I’m guessing they just end up keeping him for now & explore moving him in the offseason
