the salary for Van Reimsdyk is laughable.

I think Matthews signs a bigger deal than mcdavid. higher cap, 2 years of other players getting overpaid too.

If Matthews gets more than McDavid, our GM screwed up. McDavid won a Hart at 20, and Matthews may never win one, not that he's not electrifying, but McDavid is the leagues best,

Not at all laughable McDavid got a raw end of the deal with the Cap going up to maybe 80 at that point cap % wise Matthews getting more then McDavid is not that crazy. But regardless if the Cap does not move Matthews is in the 12.5-13,5 range and Marner and Nylander are in the 6.75-8 ranger

Yeah maybe JVR contract is pretty ridiculous.

But I thought maybe he will get around 5yrs $7M/yr $35M contract so,
maybe he is willing to sign 8yrs $4.5M/yr $36~40M range with the leafs.

I think if leafs don't trade one of NYLANDER/MARNER maybe they try to sign one of them to 1~2yr bridge deal so they can sign big contract after MARLEAU contract.

It is less laughable than your 2nd comment.......unless the Leafs sign Chiarelli before Matthews.

The 13.5 range doesn't exist....and won't for a long time, even if the cap does move & Matthews gets 90 points.

There is literally no stat that puts Marner & Nylanders over 6.75 million. See Pastrnak, Ehlers, Gaudreau, Monahan, Scheifele, Arvidsson, etc. who all got more points & goals.
They all also took between $4.5 million & $7 million. So that would be pretty rough if Lou gives them 8.
