Very interesting.......I'm not sure if I like it or not. Feels very much like a hockey trade.

Not enough...

According to Dreger,
Kane will get a “Konecny” + a 1st & another pick

So even if u take out Scandella & say Reinhart for Ghost is an even swap,
You’re still short bc Weal is just a throw in who has no value

The way I see this deal:

Kane >>>>> Weal
Reinhart > Konecny
Scandella <<< Ghost

I think it comes down to if BUF thinks the acquisition of Ghost really offsets the lose of value from Kane and Reinhart. imo I think Buf would be more interested in another young defensemen instead of Weal. perhaps P.Myers or S.Morin instead of Weal could be a fair deal.

The Flyers aren't a team that should be trading for rentals just yet. They aren't trading Ghost who they just signed to a team friendly deal. Konecny is only 20, doubt they would give up on him this early. Not to mention I want nothing to do with Kane and his past history of off the ice stuff.

From a Flyers fan's perspective, I hate this trade so much. We lose Ghost, who's top ten for d-men in scoring, Konecny, a young top-six forward, and a young top-nine forward for a rental, and overpriced d-man, and a forward with probably the same value as Konecny. Plus, Ghost and Konecny are pretty big leaders in the locker room. This trade would hurt us.

I'm not sure why people think Buffalo is getting the short end of the stick here.

Evander Kane is going to head into free agency with the mindset to go wherever the money is; some team will pay him.

Sam Reinhardt has value, but him for Travis Konecny would be very even. This is a wash.

Marco Scandela for Shayne Gostisbehere is in favor of Buffalo. Ghost is one a very team-friendly deal and is going to continue to improve as an offensive force for Philadelphia.

If I were Philadelphia, I would pass. If I were Buffalo, I would accept.

bad deal for Philly. Wouldn't trade Ghost for Kane straight up. Scandella is bad. Reinhart is basically equal to knoecny value wise now that he needs paid.

Both teams crying foul means someone is being biased.

I think the important thing here to consider is can or does Philly want sign Kane and does Kane want to sign there?

That is the real question that answers if this trade can happen or not.

Until then both teams will say their player is better and the other guy ain't as good, yada yada yada more mouth fart noises.

Won't get into the Ghost Kane Scandella Weal discussion but one thing I will say is that right now, Reinhart > Konecny. There is no ifs, ands or buts about it.
