Tavares will want more

Bozak will want more

That won't get u OEL, a 1st and a 2nd is good but toews and ho sang aren't good enough. Think of it like this, hamonic got a 1st and 2 2nds. OEL is much better than hamonic

Not even close to the trade return it will take for an extended OEL with retention on next year.

Tavares, Bozak and Bailey will all get more then what you're offering them here, And the OEL retained for $2 million isn't even close 29 other teams easily beat your offer.

I could see Tavares taking a 10.5 contract to allow other good players to fit under the cap, but I don't expect him to. My prediction is 11m aav.

Bozak will command more, but not by much.

I think Bailey would accept a 5.5 aav contract, actually. He's having a sensational year, but I doubt any team in the league will completely ignore his entire career for the sake of one season.

OEL is worth more than that. Ho-Sang (though I'd much rather send Beauvillier) and Toews are good-not-great returns. I'd say include both of our 1st rounders from 2018 on top of what you've already offered and Arizona would at least give it a good think. Arizona is, as of now, the most likely team to end up with Dahlin. But the addition of Dahlin alone won't end their rebuild. They'll still want other quality prospects, and anything from the first round, even if it isn't a top 5 pick, will catch Arizona's eye.

RE: Tavares

I believe they already know what the contract is going to be and the signature is completely predicated on how Tavares feels the team does in the playoffs. Tavares is not a greedy person and he cares way more about winning than his paycheck. combined with the fact that in the open market, he only wants to go to a contending team, those teams wont be able to offer him more than 10 per. I could even see his contract go as low as 10 mil but not likely.

Re Bozak:

possibly up to 5 mil but I just don't see it. at his age, with his injury history, hes only a half a point per game guy. with other big names out there like Sedin, Statsny Thorton and Backlund, I see Bozak as a second tier FA.

Re: Bailey

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS! Look at okposo and Moulson two wingers who after playing w JT numbers regressed significantly. no team, in this market of wingers, is going to throw 6 million dollars at Bailey who's career numbers are mediocre at best. bailey is likely to sign 5.5 contract and i doubt he would break 5 in the open market.

Re: OEL

I think people completey overstating what the market will dictate, especially as his patience with org has noticeably, through his agent, been wearing thin. If teams think he will hit free agency, ARI loses a ton of leverage. a 1st a 2nd a 1st round talent in ho-sang (who I agree would rather trade Beau but that not going to happen) and one of the best scoring d in the AHL is a fair trade. if you look at the keith yandle trade this offering fits that when you scale up for OEL. maybe you could throw another late round

Hamonic was traded as a top 4 defenseman (lol) his value was based on that. a 1st in a very good draft class, a 2nd, a first round talent in ho-sang and one of the top D prospects in the AHL is fair value. that is also value MUCH higher than what hamonic went for.

Tavares cares about winning not money. he will only go to a contender in the open market, those teams cannot offer more than 10 and he repeatedly said he wants to stay here. I fully expect him to take a paycut to give the roster more flexability. Bailey may want more, but hes not getting it no team is going to ignore that his career numbers are with tavares and when hes not with tavares his numbers have been piss poor. with the amount of quality wingers on the market next offseason bailey will be lucky to get 5.5 million

Bozak may get more, not by much though. at best hes getting 5-5.5 million hes 31, a 3rd line center, with injury history, and hitting free agency where there are 4-5 better options than him at center.no one is signing him as a C1, very unlikely anyone is going to sign him as a top C2, which leaves us at low end C2, C3 money
