MTL have a 16% chance of still making the playoffs. Not great odds at all. almost halfway through the season, everyone (and hopefully most of all for Habs management) should see that MTL is AT BEST a bubble team. There is nothing wrong with being a bubble team, but when a team is in that position, there needs to be some sort of indication that the team is trending upwards. In MTL's cases, it's the opposite. When a team is struggling, their fan base can still remain positive if there's a short term or long term view that things will improve. take Philadelphia Flyers for example, they are a struggling team, but the fans still have something to look forward to with their strong prospect pool that gives them hope that things are looking up. Take Toronto before they drafted Matthews, they were a terrible team, but fans could at least still say "Marner and Nylander are coming". MTL has nothing to indicate that the future looks bright. Sure they have some interesting prospects (Poehling, Mete, Juulsen) but none of them a blowing anyone's socks off.

on top of how Habs management is completely lost on how to develop their top young players, AKA playing a top tier 22year old LW at Center *cough* Drouin *cough*, treating their most skilled forward like garbage in Galchenyuk be cause he doesn't fit in the plans of a defensive minded coach... freakin Claude *dump & chase* Julien.

So now I I think I speak for the majority now that Habs fans want to rebuild.
The first step in doing so is letting go of Marc Bergevin, there's no better way to hit the reset button than change the guy whose making the decisions.
Moving forward after that there needs to be a change in the core of the team, not completely replacing the entire core. but moving most of them.
Price and Weber are pretty much immovable due to their contracts, so imo they should just keep them and have them mentor the kids. Pacioretty, Plekanec, Petry, Alzner, Benn, and Shaw all need to be phased out throughout a 2 year process, if they cannot be moved or let go after 2 years, they are to be bought out.
MTL should not trade anymore draft picks, period. Restock the prospect cupboards.
Commit to the rebuild . when Marc Bergevin was hired, he realized that he had a far better team than he thought. Instead of sticking to his philosophy of building through the draft, he started trading 2nd round picks like candy to try and compete year after year.
