Ottawa trade way off, Pavelski has more value than Dzingel as well as Dell is above Condon. Than the picks, sending away 2018 1st especially when SJS doesn´t have playoffs sure is nonsense, this draft should have extreme depth, and it is likely that Ottawa will step up next season (unlike Sharks, who are getting old) so their 2019 1st might be more of a 2019 2nd.

I also don´t like the second trade, Braun is on top of his play right now, perfect on pairing with Vlasic, no need to trade him, and because Toronto needs RHD, he fits perfectly so the price would be even bigger.

If you look at the roster and ignore Thornton, Martin, and Ward. The Sharks aren't that old. Plus, Ward is likely gone next season. Martin might get traded before the trade deadline. Thornton, and it hurts to say this, might take once last chance elsewhere at a better shot at the cup next season.

Yeah but thats not a reason to do bad trades, even if you are Dough Wilson grin
From key players, only Couture and Jones are under 30, thats what I meant, but others? Braun and Vlasic will be 31, Burns 33, Pavelski 34, if Sharks want to make playoff run, they need to add young guns (if they add players like Hansen and lose Goldobin, after 5 years this team will be crap), but nobody gives you them for Ward, Hansen or Martin, so if you trade someone from this core, you need to get back as much as possible because there are no players to step up for these guys in Sharks pool.

They have depth in the minors again. I think they're in a much better spot than say a few years ago.

Yes that is true, but I think nobody from these players is NHL ready and potential 1st o 2nd line player, because they would be playing in NHL right now if they had that potential. That´s why I think they should lose at least 1st round picks
